Remodels

In August 2016 the Baton Rouge area suffered an extreme flood event. The client requested the BS team to travel to ASO location in Denham Springs, LA after the store was flooded with 4+ feet of water on Aug 16 2016, one day after the flood waters receded. The project was under a very tight schedule to open the store for business. We coordinated with the city and contractor during design and production to obtain a permit to not only recover the store, but design for a complete remodel. The city was overrun by permit request; however, BS and the GC obtained the building permit and issued the construction set on Sept. 12, 2016. This project was a success after such destruction thanks to all disciplines, contractors, client, and city officials working together as a team and an example of flexibility of staff and responsive services.

Both Bowling Schork Design Co (BS) and BS staff have vast experience within the remodel/tenant infill project type.  This experience extends from the retail sector, restaurants, to class “A” financial offices and university work.  BS staff has managed and permitted multiple Big Box Retail remodel projects along with Tenant Infill roll outs programs such as Game Play’s, Money Centers, and Medical Clinics. These projects were located in over 40 states. Through the vast remodel experience, remodels have often been a great source of education for BS and its staff. BS is passionate about the excitement a remodel project brings. Even with a client that has prototypical details and design, we often come across an opportunity to expand construction knowledge by the unforeseen puzzles that appear during the remodel process. BS staff have decades of experience with construction administration and observation work, which allows our firm to succeed during remodel site surveys, document production and the construction process.
